That’s been me lately… hiding and not running.
Let’s catch up shall we?
First of all, Charlie is a marathoner!
Next: I’ve stopped using the CGMS sensors - it’s more of a money thing, and I hope to resume using them again next year, as I’ve already seen my A1c slip.
Next: I haven’t been running, but with this too, I hope to resume again soon… I really miss it, and my body could use some exercise.
Next: The DR 5H and 1K - I am not going to meet EITHER of these this year, but hope I’ve inspired others to complete the task. I have received emails from some of you, and you’ve done great! Many have already met their goal, and others are closing in fast as the year draws to a close. In the end, 70 people signed up, making it more popular than I had imagined when I started the challenge at the beginning of the year. If I hear even one comment that I should set it up again for 2009, I will, and I’ll even strive to meet the goal this time!!!! THANKS TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED!
Next: I have been playing tennis to keep the bones moving.
Next: I like running more than tennis.
Next: Sorry I’ve been out of touch with so many of you fellow runners/bloggers. I’ve been really bad about reading, commenting, and posting lately.
Next: Merry Christmas!
Always running (errands),

Hey stranger! Well, due to the torn tendon and then the pregnancy, I have not made my 500 miles. 274 so far, mostly walked, to be exact.
Have you been keeping up with Elijah?
Make a podcast and catch us all up!
Jamie, don’t worry on it too much on the past look to the future. I slipped as well and am trying to put myself back on track. After almost 2.5 years of not needing to be on medication, I am back on. It just inspires me to work harder and get back on track.
I know you can do it, all of have your back.
Hey there! I would love if you set this up again for 2009! I didn’t quite make the 500, but this year’s another story. Hope you’re feeling better and running again!
Many Blessings,
Lilyth
Hi Jamie, hope you can get back to running soon. Just wanted to thank you for the diabetic runner challenge. I haven’t posted much, but it really did help me to know that there were others with “D” out there running. I wound up with a total of 623 miles for 2008, but some of them were walking as evidenced by the 13:00 min/mile pace that my Garmin says I averaged. But hey, I’m faster than my couch, and that in and of itself is a victory! I’ve had rough spots, illness, etc., but your challenge is part of what inspired me to get back out there. As you put one foot in front of the other, know that you have helped others along the way. That is a REAL victory!
Thanks for the shout out, Jamie. I appreciate it.
Well, I did it, but I have to exercise. That’s just how my Doctor is (and, I suppose, I am too).
Anyone can marathon. All you have to do is get out there and train for it, learn about your self, and sign up for one! (or in mycase, 2, before I got it right!)
There was no sight in my life (recently, at least) that was as sweet as seeing and crossing the finish line in Las Vegas!
Oh yeah! Interview Carol… She sounds like the kind of person that can inspire others to get off their (couch) and walk/run!
You have to set it up for 2009 it is a great challenge
oh and I had 2430.26 Miles walking for the year 2008
