I was reading a friend’s blog today and found this interesting post on it. Those of you that know me know how much I love Medtronic’s pumps and CGMS, but WHOA!!!!…. this is kind of upsetting. Give it a read and think about what message they are trying to send to their Hero wannabes.
From Marcus’ “Sweet Victory” blog:

Thanks for the kudos, Jamie. I hope that as the word gets out, Medtronic and the Twin Cities Marathon will decide to do the right thing.
I noticed and appreciated the shamrock banners. Sorry I didn’t mention it before.
Jerry
Easter baskets! I wondered what you’d have up your sleeve after the shamrock banners. Nice touch. Happy Easter to you and your family!

Medtronic has updated the Global Heroes guidelines page with a “Learn more” link next to the rule about diabetics over 40.
Unfortunately, instead of actually leading anyone to information, where they could learn more, the link leads to an ignorant explanation for their ridiculous rule.
An open letter to the Medical Director of the Twin Cities Marathon.
