So, I’ve wanted to do this for a while, and have finally done it. Map my run to my blood glucose.
The reason I chose last night’s run is this: I sometimes treat slightly high blood sugars with a tiny bit of insulin, and a good run. Yesterday I was running high around the time I wanted to run. Normally I start with an ideal blood glucose and eat a gel and begin running with a lowered temporary basal rate. Last night, however, I gave a small bolus amount of insulin .5 U which would ordinarily lower my BG by about 20 - but given that I was running, I knew it would go further, especially as I chose not to decrease my basal rate while I ran. It worked, and I actually needed to eat a gel around 30 minutes in to keep things from getting too low… take a look at the image. Yet another example of how beneficial running can be to a diabetic’s health.

Good runs, and good blood to ya,

That’s the best reason I’ve seen so far to use CGM
I’d like to have that plugged in for a marathon.
